Day Services
For people with a developmental disability, experiencing the same human rights, responsibilities, and opportunities as others in society is vital. It means that all people have the right to participate and contribute to society through the many stages of life. It also means living a life beyond the 'service system', a life in a community, where people can experience self-determination through their own choices. Citizenship also means feeling like you belong to a community, and in that community, you are respected for your abilities, inherent talents, and unique contributions to that community's ultimate success.
Community Integration
An important aspect of WillowTree Supports is our effort to integrate all abilities into the community in meaningful and engaging ways. We look forward to working with businesses and organizations in the county to offer assistance with projects and to foster working relationships in an effort to pave the way for people of all walks of life to have well-rounded and diverse experiences. Additionally, giving people in this population the chance to grow their experience in the world around them gives them access to potential paid employment opportunities in the future.
WillowTree Supports has worked with local fire departments, community gardens, and non-profits in the area on various volunteer efforts. WillowTree has also facilitated cleaning services to businesses, assembled packets/packages for missionaries and medical teams, and assisted with beekeeping alongside a local farmer. Getting into the community and finding a meaningful place in it is an important human right every person deserves.
From WillowTree’s beginning, we have opened our doors to many volunteers who enjoy spending their time at WillowTree Supports from leading in-house yoga classes to sewing projects to simply playing BINGO.
